Box

The first thing that I wanted to look at was the background colour, I was primarily looking at a grayscale background and the use of colour then being used. I did look at the other colours in the pallete but found that none of them were exactly what I was looking for. Finally I decided to use the below:

The colour was not too dark and not too light and fitted well with the theme of the overall board game. The colour will also be good for adding different designs onto the box whilst maintaining a good contrast.

I needed to create the title of the board game and make it clear and concise to anyone that may buy it so I started by using the Segoe Script from the cards but found that it would not work as something eye catching. I went in a bit of an opposite direction and looked at a more digital design for the sci-fi aspect of the game but I still felt that it did not fit in with the whole design and still was not eye catching enough.

I then decided to use the brush tool to create my own text with space in the middle to add colour and a border to add more colour if necessary to make it more eye catching. The colour would be a great contrast as well.

I simple filled in the different colours including the yellow that I had used previously in the icons. The red and the yellow stuck out the most so I will be running with those colours.

I tried creating some different designs, I wanted it simple but with plenty of colour. I really wanted to bring across the Scotland shield to show the Dunfermline side of the game.

I liked the final design, it was simple and showed exactly what I wanted, however I felt there was something missing so I went back to the start again and looked at background colours.

The red really brought out the rest of the images on the box and helped bring the whole thing together, it was eye-catching, it follows the same style as the rest of the game as well as containing images from the game.

The final design, contains all the themes and images from the board game itself whilst maintaining an eye-catching design.
